Good conditions
This course has 18 wooded holes with 'fair' fairways, 12 baskets anchored into rock, more than a 1/3rd of the holes with 25+ ft. elevation changes, and a few fairways with 50 ft. high canopies. There's a downhill par 3 with a 1500+ sqft. bare rock green that slopes away from the tee. The course was built to provide both a moderate challenge to world-class players yet still provide beginning and intermediate players a chance for several pars or birdies during their round.

"I am not the biggest of purely wooded courses. Living in Connecticut is par for the course. No pun intended. It is extremely fair course. For being purely wooded course. What I love to see you when I come to Wooded courses. Is fair, clear lines, Nichols field has all of that I would recommend it to anyone. "

"Beautiful course, great hike while playing. A bit discouraging for beginners as some are super long 822ft!)"
